Apple is secretly working on a way to store your medical records on the iPhone with a startup called Health Gorilla, reports CNBC.
Sources said that Health Gorilla is specifically working with Apple to add diagnostic data to the iPhone, including blood work, by integrating with hospitals, lab-testing companies such as Quest and LabCorp and imaging centers. The start-up, which has raised just shy of $5 million in funding, specializes in giving doctors a "complete picture of patient health history," according to its website.
Apple's goal is reportedly to make the patient the center of their own care, giving them the tools to review, store, and share their medical information, including lab results and other test results. In addition to these efforts, Apple is also said to have hired a small team of biomedical engineers to work on a super secret initiative to develop sensors that can non-invasively and continuously monitor blood sugar levels

I like where they're going with this, finally showing some vision! As long as the public doesn't balk at having their health data stored locally(couldn't they incorporate the cloud?) this could be a big step forward for Apple/iPhone.
