DJI's New 'Osmo Mobile 7' Gimbals Bring Next-Level Stabilization to iPhone [Video]

DJI has officially launched the Osmo Mobile 7 Series, its latest gimbal lineup for iPhone and Android smartphones. The two new models—Osmo Mobile 7P and Osmo Mobile 7—both incorporate DJI's seventh-generation stabilization system, the latest ActiveTrack 7.0 technology, and a collection of intelligent functions for improved smartphone video capture.

Both models feature three-axis stabilization and ActiveTrack 7.0, designed to lock onto subjects in active or crowded environments. Smart Capture allows the gimbal to detect multiple subjects, and users can direct the gimbal to lock onto one subject or switch to a different subject with a simple tap.

The premium Osmo Mobile 7P sets itself apart by bundling a "Multifunctional Module," which attaches magnetically to the gimbal. This module enables advanced tracking using a phone's built-in camera, as well as third-party apps and live-streaming platforms. Hand gestures can be used to start or stop recording, snap a photo, or frame a subject, reducing the need to touch the display. The module also integrates a light control feature for adjusting color temperature and brightness. Additionally, it can function as a microphone receiver to capture audio and even supply extra power to a connected smartphone. Despite these upgrades, DJI has kept the gimbal relatively lightweight at around 300g and included an integrated extension rod and tripod.

In addition to the Osmo Mobile 7P, DJI has announced the Osmo Mobile 7 as a more budget-friendly option with the same three-axis stabilization, compact design, built-in tripod, and optional support for the Multifunctional Module. Although it lacks some of the advanced lighting and audio features found in the 7P model, it still offers key improvements over previous Osmo Mobile gimbals.





Another standout enhancement in the new lineup is ActiveTrack 7.0. When using the DJI Mimo app, the gimbal can automatically follow subjects even if they briefly leave the frame or are obscured. This updated version of ActiveTrack manages faster motion more effectively than before while still delivering smooth transitions and reliable focus.

DJI has also improved overall user control. A tactile side wheel facilitates simpler zoom and focus adjustments, and pressing down on the same wheel allows changes to brightness or color temperature when using the Multifunctional Module. The Osmo Mobile 7 Series further benefits from Apple Watch compatibility, enabling users to remotely manage camera functions via the DJI Mimo app on their watch. Both models can operate for up to 10 hours on a full charge, depending on usage.



Pricing and Availability
The Osmo Mobile 7 is available for $89, while the Osmo Mobile 7P is priced at $149. DJI is also offering add-on accessories such as a Magnetic Quick-Release Mount, a Mic Mini Transmitter, and a dedicated Tracking Kit.
