Apple could sell around 12 million units of the new iPhone SE this quarter, according to a new report from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a post on X today, Kuo predicted that the next generation device will sell slightly better than previous models.
iPhone SE4 is expected to ship around 12M/10M units in 1H25/2H25, performing slightly better than previous SE models (typically shipped near 20M units annually after launch). Not only does this help smooth out the usual seasonal dip in shipments, but it also boosts the adoption of Apple Intelligence devices.
The new iPhone SE is widely expected to feature Apple's first in-house 5G modem. Interestingly, Kuo suggests that Qualcomm believes the modem will violate some of its patents and plans to pursue Apple for licensing fees to recoup lost revenue.
Once the model launches, Qualcomm will look into its modem patents, as they believe they might be able to collect some licensing fees to make up for lost orders.
Other rumored features of the new iPhone SE include a larger display with Face ID, an A18 chip supporting Apple Intelligence, the removal of the Home button, USB-C, and an OLED display.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has teased an upcoming product launch on February 19 to unveil "the newest member of the family." While not confirmed, there is a high likelihood that Cook is referring to the next-generation iPhone SE.
