Apple is planning to launch a new M4 MacBook Air by March at the latest, according to a new report from Mark Gurman.
In a newsletter to subscribers, Gurman writes:
The upcoming M4 MacBook Air (in both sizes) has been shipping out from factories in Asia for several weeks — a sign it's close to being ready. I would expect the laptops to go on sale by March at the latest, matching the time frame of the M3 MacBook Air launch last year. Once that machine is out the door, attention will likely to turn to the Mac Studio and Mac Pro.
The M3 MacBook Air was announced on Monday, March 4, 2024, and began arriving to customers on Friday, March 8, 2024. Currently, Amazon is not showing stock for the base 13-inch M3 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, perhaps hinting that an update is imminent.
Other than the processor bump, we haven't heard of any major changes to the popular notebook. In terms of pricing, we expect Apple to stay very close to, if not exactly at, the current price point. The 13-inch MacBook Air starts at $1,099, while the 15-inch model starts at $1,299 (on sale for 15% off today).
