Apple has now provided a way for you to check if you're eligible for a free iPhone 6s battery replacement.
Recently, Apple determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015.
If you have experienced this issue, please use the serial number checker at the link below to see if your iPhone 6s is eligible for a battery replacement, free of charge.
Mine has been doing that and it annoyed the hell out of me. I just upgraded to the 7 plus though. I was seduced by the promise of its longer lasting battery. Let's see if it's true. Can't wait till it finally gets here. This waiting sucks!!
I say, don't make it paper thin yet unless that damn battery lasts a full day of very heavy usage. Most would rather it had a much much longer lasting battery, without it exploding of course.
My 6S can die on whatever percentage, usually playing Pokémon Go. It then shows the charge icon. After a couple of minutes a reset revives it to be back on whatever percentage I had left, last time it was 56%.
Im also having problems with the battery on 6s plus - anyone else? Battery dies a lot at 10 percent and requires plugging in to restart. Occasional battery death also at orher times
Took my phone to the Apple Store like 3 weeks ago complaining of this issue. They "checked my battery" said it was fine and just needed to update the phone and told me that it was happening because I didn't let the phone charge to 100% every time before unplugging it and that it was my fault. After update it still happened. Glad to see this article. Time To go back through the lovely process of the Genius Bar.
My iPhone 6 Plus has the same issue and unexpectedly shut down at 40%. I am working with Apple Support team to see if is similar to iPhone 6s Battery issue.
I work at a cell phone repair shop, and I've got a 6s plus, my gf has a 6 plus, we've both gotten them when they first came out, and my battery is worse than hers which is a year older, also we get a lot of people with bad batteries with their 6s and 6s pluses, that are having issues with their batteries not lasting that long
For my6s plus its not quick drain. it randomly dies pften around 10 percent sometimes at other charge levels and when i plug it, its instantly starting up with ( in the case of the death at 10 percent )10% power again, is that the issue people are having with the 6s?
