The PanguTeam has just announced the release of their Pangu8 jailbreak utility for iOS 8.0 - 8.1 with a working version of Cydia included.
This marks the first user safe version of the iOS 8.0 - 8.1 jailbreak to be released. A previous version of the utility intended for developers was released last week.
Please can somebody make a list of compatible tweaks for ios8.1 JB and share them to us here? I would like to know if Appsync is already working with this JB :) thanks in advance!
U don't even know the reason behind my asking about "Appsync" and YOU are already ACCUSING me of pirating things?! Whats gives?! I need Appsync COZ i have files needed to be transferred to ifiles, files
I pirate. But for the sole purpose of trying out the app over a week or so. If it's actually useful, I will buy it. If not, will I just nuke it. Nothing worse than paying for an app the is complete crap and you're past the refund period.
To answer the question, there is currently no working Appsync as of today. Everyone is waiting for AppSync Unified to be updated to iOS 8. The only way to install cracked apps is use AppCake - dump the cracked IPA into AppCake's install folder via iFunBox, iTools, or FilleZilla, etc.
Settings app is also lagging, and my wifi icon is disappearing from status bar. I wish i could go back to ios7. I have shsh blobs but it seems that nobody won't make a software like ifaith anymore.
After successful jailbreak last night my 4s respringed itself 4 timesin 17 hours. There is much lagging with some appstore apps like chrome, fb,..
I hope that the problem comes from the bug with CPU useage that Saurik's written about in cydia app.
I wouldn't mess up the 7.0.4 IOS man
I am on the same boat.I have been jailbreaking since iPhone 2G
I would wait and see
Byt the way I am so happy with my iPhone 5 on IOS 7.0.4
Everything works
Most reports have been positive, but it makes sense to wait, as there's not much on Cydia you can load yet. But the jailbreak seems pretty secure. The key is to turn off Find My Phone, put the phone in Airplane Mode and remove your passcode (which removes your Apple Pay).
There HAVE been a couple reports of other problems, but they're usually corrected by rebooting and reloading.
Thanks guys. I am also using an iphone 5. I think I'll just stick with this jailbreak till further info releases. My friend did jailbreak his iPhone 6 and he had no issues with it.
My advise is NOT to update yet. There's isn't a working AppSync for iOS 8 at the moment, and some apps are lagging due to a CPU usage bug. Wait a couple of weeks until all bugs are sorted out, and Cydia apps are updated. Had I known all of this, I would of stayed on JB'd iOS 7.1.
The app works (if previously installed), but I haven't tried to download anything. Since there's no working Appsynch for iOS 8 yet, it's impossible to load new cracked apps (thought those previously installed are fine). Thus you can download apps, but you won't be able to install them for a while.
I've been trying to install various Cydia apps. Most repositories show blank pages on Cydia, so you can install the Cydia apps but you can't review them. Most don't work, but certain ones do. You'll have to give the Cydia develops a few days/weeks to begin going through the various Cydia tools one at a time, either clearing them for use or fixing them to work within iOS 8.
No More Jailbreak 4 Me - October 31, 2014 at 5:48pm
Honestly, is jailbreaking still relevant...stopped doing this to my iPhones since the roll out of iOS 6.XX. I got sick and tired of crashville, instability, and all the hassle associated with jailbreakiing.
I still jailbreak for the ability to customize my icon layout. I like 30 icons per page 6 x 5, and unlimited folders inside folders. I also like customer themes.
Apple keeps on copying features that originated in the Jailbreak community, when they copy the above I'd probably be done with it.
I'm going wait for this jailbreak until bugs fixed & more tweaks updated to work with it.
Rest of my day going in backing up, upgrading, installing apps, restoring backup, respringing several times, testing tweaks. Such a busy day.
Same story for many of us.
Don't bother. If you simply do an iTunes update your apps will be there. Otherwise, there's only a few Cydia apps which work anymore. They'll undoubtedly launch an "iOS 8 apps" folder soon with all the newest releases (Hackyouriphone).
VShare is the best alternative at the moment. If you had it installed before (i.e. you just upgraded a jailbroken device to iOS 8) it'll be there as an existing app. Otherwise it won't install until the get AppSynch for iOS 8 working.
