Google has just announced a new inbox for Gmail that separates out Social, Promotion, and Update emails from your Primary messages.
On the desktop, the new inbox groups your mail into categories which appear as different tabs. You simply choose which categories you want and voilà! Your inbox is organized in a way that lets you see what’s new at a glance and decide which emails you want to read when.
You can easily customize the new inbox - select the tabs you want from all five to none, drag-and-drop to move messages between tabs, set certain senders to always appear in a particular tab and star messages so that they also appear in the Primary tab.
The new tabs are also being added to the Gmail for Android and iOS. When you open the app you'll see your Primary mail but you can easily navigate to the other tabs.
The new inbox is being rolled out gradually over the next few weeks. If you want to try it sooner, watch the gear menu and select 'Configure Inbox' when it appears in the settings options. Of course, you can choose to switch off all optional tabs to go back to the classic view, if you so desire.
Take a look at the video below for more details...

Now if they could only add the feature that Sparrow has, where you could forward an email to numerous contacts without having to go back and forth from the email to the contacts and back to the email and back to contacts... Etc etc rtc
