Apple to Debut 'iRadio' Service in 2013 [Analyst]

BTIG analyst Richard Greenfield says Apple is likely to debut an 'iRadio' service in 2013 to compete with Pandora and Spotify, reports Investor.com.

"Consumer behavior (is) increasingly shifting toward access to a music catalog from ownership of specific songs," Greenfield wrote. "We expect iRadio to be incorporated into the iTunes iOS app with personalized radio functionality akin to Pandora, integrated with iTunes to purchase music and other music related content such as concert information/tickets/merchandise via Live Nation (LYV) and Ticketmaster."

Greenfield says Apple is negotiating with music labels to get access to song catalogs. However, recent reports have said that the deals are 'nowhere near' complete.

As for other predicted Apple devices, Greenfield doesn't think Apple will be able to release a television product in 2013 due to difficulties in obtaining content licenses.
