When Apple designs an app, they go for a particular balance. They want to give the typical user a lot of capability but also make sure they can use the app right away without too much confusion or a steep learning curve. MoviePro would be way too complicated for the average user who expects to start the app, select video, and begin recording. Apple also knows there's a healthy app ecosystem, so that they can focus on the above philosophy while leaving the advanced stuff to 3rd party developers.

You made too much sense to be a iClarified commenter. That's meant as a compliment. What you say is true. For those needing more, there's plenty of app out there. I still reach for the default camera app most of the time. And I am a photographer by trade.
