Pear is a new small dongle that will turn any iPod/iPhone/iPad dock into an AirPlay receiver.
Pear is a standalone device that connects your iPhone, iPad, iTouch, or Android to your speaker's docking station via Bluetooth. This allows you to listen to music, podcasts, or any audio while texting, emailing and surfing the web. With Pear your phone is now BACK into your hand, where it belongs!
Pear syncs just like your hands free headset, or other Bluetooth device. Just connect, sync, and play your music.
The dongle is seeking funding from Kickstarter. You can get one unit for $40. So far $39,377 has been pledged of the $40,000 goal. There are 58 days left to go.
ALready on the market:

and much cheaper there!
Cool idea, but i already have a bluetooth receiver that i use on my logitech s715i that does exactly this. but i plug it in 3.5 mini jack. not really ground breaking.
I have a bluetooth receiver with a 3.5 mini jack too. They work great, but... They need power. One that docked would presumably receive power from the dock and also work where there were docks without 3.5 mini jacks.
What is the name pf your BT receiver? Im interested cuz i want to plug that into my car stereo via AUX jack and play music from my phone via stereo BT profile.
Thanks!
I got mine from Amazon:

i have 2.. britelink for my logitech, it holds a 14 hour charge and a belkin for my inifinti g37. i got the belkin cuz i had to manually turn off the britelink and i got sick of doing that so i got the belkin that is USB powered and turned off when i turned off my car.

i scrapped the belkin in my infiniti and got a dock from proclip here. i get full control of my iphone with steering wheel controls when the iphone is docked.

however the belkin does not come with a USB power cable and the britelink does so what i ended up doing was using the britelink USB power cable on the belkin and the belkin AC power cable for the britelink.
