Apple has released a minor update to the Mac Pro which unfortunately does not bring Thunderbolt, USB 3.0, or a redesign.
Here are the standard configurations offered:
Quad-Core ● One 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor ● 6GB (three 2GB) memory ● 1TB hard drive ● 18x SuperDrive ● ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB GDDR5 $2,499.00
12-Core ● Two 2.4GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon processors ● 12GB (six 2GB) memory ● 1TB hard drive ● 18x SuperDrive ● ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB GDDR5 $3,799.00
Server ● One 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor ● 8GB (four 2GB) memory ● Two 1TB hard drives ● OS X Lion Server ● ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB GDDR5 $2,999.00
Proof that Apple will be terminating the Mac Pro pretty soon.
On top of not having 3.0 for a supposed "workstation", Mac Pro continues to be grossly over priced.
I can build a better much faster machine for half the price.
Shame on you Apple, for ignoring your pro customer base yet again.
