Specialized App For Custom Business Invoices

Kedisoft has announced Totals 2.0.4 for Mac OS X, a complete redesign of their popular app that enables easy creation of customized invoices for SOHO and small business owners. Surpassing the invoicing capabilities and flexibility of competing software (e.g. FileMaker, Invoices X), as well as generalized business apps (Quicken, Excel), Totals' new GUI allows users to begin generating invoices almost immediately. In addition to stylish invoices, the app organizes and tracks pending, overdue, and paid invoices; generates reports; and manages inventory. Totals is ideal for photographers, art designers, web designers, consultants, teachers, musicians, e-commerce stores, doctors, programmers, freelancers, and agencies.

When launched for the first time, the app automatically finds the business in the computer's Address Book, and asks the user if it should use the entries to fill in the entire setup. The app can also quickly import thousands of contacts from the Address Book into its own, secure database. Totals also imports CSV format files, and creation of new items in its database.
Total's large, main window provides access to every document and function, simplifying operation. Clean in layout and hierarchical in design, there are three columns in the main window. The first is Navigation (15% of the window's width), which includes General views (Contacts, Projects, Drafts, and Upcoming Projects) Documents (Invoices, Estimates, Delivery Notes, Credit Notes, and Purchase Orders), Sent items, Smart Folders, Inventory, and Smart Catalog. The second column is the Object List (25% wide), which displays a scrolling list of all the items included within the category selected in Navigation. And the third column is Object Details (60%), which displays the editable text fields containing the details of the item selected in the Object List.
New Clients, Invoices, Projects or other business forms can be added from the File menu on the menu bar or from the window's main toolbar. Creating a new Invoice requires only selecting the command from the menu. The Object Details column becomes an Invoice creation area, and the Object List becomes a library of items with prices. Users simply drag 'n drop items from the second column to the third column to build the invoice. In addition, an Add Item button allows manual entry of invoice items. Each item on an invoice can include up to five fields that can each have their own typeface, style and color, including: Title of the item, Description of the item, Category Subtotals, Pricing & Additional Costs, and Notes. Invoices are easily customizable with new fields added via drop-down menus.
The Layout Designer function included in Totals gives the user complete control over invoice templates and how they look as PDFs. Up to 16 different fields can be checked off to appear in an invoice, e.g., Total, Discount, Taxes, Payments, etc. The Designer also accommodates a variety of Text and Image objects, including logos, rules, shapes, etc. Every variable of every field is independently controllable, such as: font, style, color, size, auto-alignment, background, line thickness, fill color, spacing, list format, etc. The app comes with sample invoices to illustrate the layout and design of completed documents.
Totals is an ideal app for small businesses, because of its simplicity and gentle learning curve.
