A new infographic from Online Teaching Degree shows that outfitting students with iPads and E-Books costs far more than using textbooks.
The graphic shows that the cost providing iPads and E-Books to 2,000 students would be $430,000/year based on a 4 lifespan for the iPad.
The cost of providing textbooks to the same 2,000 students would be $180,000/year.
Notably, these calculations appear to be for high school students who are only provided with an estimated $450 worth of textbooks that are reused each year. University students on the other hand can easily spend $1,500 on textbooks each year and these are not reused by other students.
Why doesn't apple just pay for it, it is only 24 billion, And they have 500 laying around. Plus there buying if them self, so it will actually be a lost less because there just paying for the hardware itself.
Nonsense-- no damn textbook in school was ever less than 30 dollars. A workbook perhaps, but not a hardback book. Throw this senseless argument out of the window.
