David Chartier from OneFPS is reporting that 50% of iPhone users never sync with iTunes after activating the device.
A little birdie says that about 50 percent of Apple Store customers who need to get their iPhones swapped have never plugged them into iTunes after the initial activation and sync. This is a big reason, according to this birdie, for why Apple Store Geniuses are excited about iCloud.
Apple's new services will enable backup protection for those users who don't use iTunes and will also wireless sync with iTunes if you do.
OTA updates.... lets make the device more and more like android every update.. Devs just need to step in and block the OTA before it screws something up bad
I agree with you..I dont like the fact that it updates itself...I dont like that ..I want to have control of the updates i want to update my stuff when I want to...
Just like an xbox just messed up my Xbox 360 with newest update ..forced me to update and flashed my DVD drivers reset it to original setting that I cant play l burned game..its basically the same thing..
If it wasn't for me keeping it up to date, my wife would still be using 2.x. It's an iPhone, not exactly marketed towards rocket surgeons. In addition, this is just more proof that the majority of iPhone owners (or the public) really don't care what Jobs says during his Keynotes.
haha @dt.
You do realize the iphone 3g started at 2.x right?
Not surprising really. A lot of people get these and then don't know what to do. This is another reason why the delta over the air updates will be very beneficial for those that just don't keep up with or care.
