Como hacer Jailbreak al iPhone 4 usando RedSn0w (Mac) [4.3.1]

Instrucciones de como aplicar el jailbreak al iPhone 4 con el firmware 4.3.1 usando RedSn0w en Mac.

Si quieres hacer el jailbreak con una versión de firmware inferior, puedes encontrar el tutorial apropiado aqui.

Asegúrate de no actualizar a la versión 4.3.1 si necesitas liberarlo, ya que todavía no es posible.

Primer Paso
Crea una carpeta en tu escritorio con el nombre Pwnage

Descarga RedSn0w de aqui y cópialo a la carpeta Pwnage. Del mismo modo descarga la última versión del firmware 4.3.1 del enlace inferior y cópialo en la misma carpeta.

4.3.1 (4 GSM): iPhone3,1_4.3.1_8G4_Restore.ipsw

Extrae el fichero zip de RedSn0w haciendo doble clic.

Segundo Paso
Conecta el iPhone al ordenador y abre el iTunes.

Selecciona tu iPhone de la lista de dispositivos de la izquierda. Ahora mantén pulsada la tecla Option y haz clic en el botón Restore . Es recomendable hacer una restauración del sistema porque es más limpia.

Navega hasta la carpeta Pwnage de tu escritorio y selecciona el fichero ipsw que corresponde al firmware 4.3.1
Pulsa el botón Choose para continuar.

Tercer Paso
Una vez que iTunes ha terminado de actualizar tu iPhone a la versión de firmware deseada, abre la carpeta Pwnage de tu escritorio y ejecuta la aplicación redsn0w.

Cuarto Paso
Una vez abierta la aplicación haz clic en el botón Browse

Quinto Paso
Selecciona el fichero ipsw del firmware 4.3.1 que se encuentra dentro de la carpeta Pwnage en el escritorio y pulsa Open.

Sexto Paso
Una vez que el firmware ha sido verificado pulsa Next para continuar.

Séptimo Paso
RedSn0w preparará ahora los datos del jailbreak.

Octavo Paso
En esta ventana puedes seleccionar las opciones del jailbreak que deseas.

Asegúrate de que Cydia está seleccionado y pulsa Next para continuar.

Noveno Paso
Conecta tu iPhone al ordenador y asegúrate de que está apagado. Tiene que estar conectado antes de apagarlo. Para continuar pulsa Next

Décimo Paso
La aplicación RedSn0w te guiará por los diferentes pasos para entrar en modo DFU. Puedes encontrar más ayuda sobre el modo DFU en el enlace

Mantén pulsado los botones Home y Power durante 10 segundos.

Suelta el botón Power pero mantén pulsado el botón Home hasta que RedSn0w detecte el dispositivo.

Undécimo Paso
Tu iPhone se reiniciará.

Duodécimo Paso
RedSnow cargará ahora en el dispositivo el Kernel y la RAM Disk.

Decimotercer Paso
Una vez completado RedSn0w te notificará que ha terminado. Pulsa el botón Finish . Cuando el iPhone termine de reiniciarse, unos 5 minutos después, estará jailbreakeado y Cydia aparecerá en el SpringBoard.

Hey. I really need help from experts. I bought an Iphone 4 which was used on AT&T and now I want to use it with another carrier. It has 4.1.0 software and 2.10.04 version. The question is: Is it possible to unlock (redsnow) my phone jailbreaking it to 4.3.3 using the custom file of this tutorial. Thank you very much in advance.

There is no .ipsw file to download... there is a 600+MB .zip file with no .ipsw files on it... Redsnow wont recognize any of those .... =/

I have current 4.3.3 firmware on my iPhone 4. Do I need to perform the restore step with the .ipsw files or can I simply move straight to a jailbreak with redsn0w_mac_0.9.6rc15?

What is the point of listing a new jailbreak and including comments that dont relate to it inn terms of currentness? I mean it came out last night and we have comments going back through several months. It makes no sense and now I have no signal after jailbreaking with pwnage, and im factory unlocked, then I jailbroke with rednsow and it didnt help, now I am factory restoring and will try again. This site used to actually care about the info it provided. Now it seems really sloppy like noone cares what the tutorials say. Sad state of affairs as one hacker after the other get high paying jobs with Apple to stop their work.

Mine won't jailbreak. I run version 4.3.2, updated using the method explained above. I do not really care for unlock at this moment. I run baseband version 02.10.04. Right now, besides the faulty signal strength indicator (never show anything but 1 bar) everything runs fine on my phone. Once I try to run RedSn0w, it gives me an unexpected error. If I put it in DFU mode manually before running the tool, it says it's pushing limerain to the phone, then give me an unexpected error again. What is wrong? Anyone else running in the same error? thanks for any tips.

Anyone else cannot restore 4.3.2 on their phone? I'm trying to upgrade from 4.2.1 to 4.3.2 even if I try full restore from iTunes, or custom restore, or DFU, I always get a damn error 1013. Any ideas?

The weird part, is even damn tinyumbrella fix does not work, nor a full iTunes restore. Scary... I'm tempted to call apple care at this point, could they know the phone was jailbroken before? The phone won't even boot!!!

Thanks Daniel, much appreciated. Unfortunately, my host file is backed up, and no entry to apple (I hate when software force name resolution). That didn't do it. To add a twist to the story, I have 2 iPhones. I plugged my older iPhone, and iTuns still complained that a phone in restore mode was connected! iTunes actually displayed 2 phones connected to my dismay. Something is definitely going on. Ghost connection? New Apple "security feature" ?

after jailbreaking i still have the no signal cosmetic issue, but afiter i install the ultrasn0w fix, my mms stopped working. Any fix for the fix lol?

I tried restoring with the IPSW file and it keeps telling me iPhone could not be restored. tried restoring with iTunes and I get the same message. Now my phone is on restore mood and I can't get out of it.

* Open Finder * Hold down COMMAND + SHIFT keys and press G * Enter /private/etc/ in the field and press Go * Find hosts file in the directory * Drag the file to your desktop * Open it in text editor * Remove the line that has gs.apple.com entirely or put a # at the beginning of it to comment it out * Save the file * Drag it back to the /private/etc/ folder. * Youd need to enter your username and password to authenticate the move

Loi, I got all the way up to remove gs.apple.com and it does not allow me to save it. It gives me the following message. To view or change permissions, select the item in the Finder and choose File > Get Info. I chose info and changed the permissions but it still does not allow me to save the file. Any ideas. Thanks

After doing the JB I now have No Service, I have gone back to stock for now. Does anyone know why the JB works perfectly on some devices and not others?

I seemed to have fixed my own issue. Restored back to stock. Turned off sim pin and activated phone on Itunes. Then did Redsnow JB and restored last backup(Itunes sync) and now all working!
