Apple Quietly Updates HomePod Mini With Support for 18W Power Adapters

Apple has quietly updated its new HomePod mini with support for 18W power adapters. The change was introduced in Software Update 14.3. Previously, the HomePod mini required a 20W power adapter.

If you have a 18W adapter, this means you can now use it for your HomePod mini and then take the 20W adapter that came with the HomePod mini for your iPhone or another device, giving you better charging performance.

Another benefit is the ability to use an 18W power bank like the RAVPower 20000mAh PD 3.0 Power Bank to turn your HomePod mini into a portable AirPlay device. We haven't tested this particular model; however, reddit users have confirmed that power banks do work.
