Fring has announced support for face-to-face video calling over 3G using the iPhone 4.

good try but the more you use video calling over the 3g network the more you will use the limited 2gb at&t data usage. ATT will loose customers because of this. Bad move.....
this works great so far on iphone 4, it doesn't have hi-res graphics yet but it doesn't look any worse than other apps that havn't been updated yet. The backgroupd SIP calls work great, and i got a 3g SIP VOIP call with wifi disabled and the phone locked. havn't been able to test skype yet though and still wonder if there is any info on skype over 3g working after they switch to a fee based service on their official app. i can't imagine they would allow a free app to connect over 3g if they are trying to charge for this feature.
anyone know if skype over 3g works backgrounded and calls can be received if the phone is not in the app/wifi off (like when locked and in pocket). ALSO anyone know how skype's plan for a VOIP over 3g fee (after this year) affect this app?
