Dit zijn de instructies over hoe je een iPhone 4 ( firmaware 5.0b1 ) Jailbreakt met RedSn0w voor Windows. Omdat iOS 5.0 nog niet gereleased is, zijn deze instructies alleen bedoelt voor developers. Deze procedure kan de baseband mogelijk upgraden, waardoor eventuele mogelijkheden voor een unlock komen te vervallen. Het maakt geen gebruik van de hacktivate, dus dien je je UDID geregistreerd te hebben bij een developer, en het is thethered.

Mocht je een oudere firmware versie willen jailbreaken, kun je de juiste tutorial hier vinden.

Stap Ã©Ã©n
Maak een map op je desktop genaamd Pwnage

Download RedSn0w hier en plaats alles in de Pwnage map. Ditzelfde geldt ook voor de laatste 5.0 firmware van de iOS Dev Center, en plaats die ook in dezelfde map.

5.0b1 (GSM): iPhone3,1_5.0_9A5220p_Restore.ipsw

Pak de zipfolder van RedSn0w uit in dezelfde map

Stap Twee
Verbind je iPhone met je computer en start iTunes.

Selecteer je iPhone in de lijst aan de linker kant. Houd nu Shift ingedrukt en klik op de Herstel knop.
Een herstel is nodig zodat er geen ruimte op je iPhone verspilt raakt.

Navigeer naar de Pwnage map op je desktop en selecteer de 5.0 firmware ipws. Klik op de Kies/Selecteer knop om door te gaan.

Stap drie
Zodra iTunes klaar is met het updaten van je iPhone met de gewenste firmware, open je de Pwnage map en start je de redsn0w applicatie die je eerder in deze map hebt uitgepakt.

**Windows 7 gebruikers dienen redsn0w uit de voeren als administrator, Windows Vista in compatibility mode. Dit kun je doen door op het .exe bestand rechter muisknop te klikken en dan Eigenschappen te selecteren in het menu.

Stap vier
Zodra RedSn0w gestart is klik je op Browse knop.

Stap vijf
Selcteer de firmware ipsw uit de Pwnage map op je desktop en klik dan op Open.

Stap zes
Zodra de firmware geverifieerd is klik je de Next knop om door te gaan.

Stap zeven
RedSn0w zal nu alle data voorbereiden voor de jailbreak.

Stap acht
Van dit venster kun je nu de gewenste jailbreak opties selecteren.

Zorg dat Cydia is geselecteerd en klik op de Next knop om door te gaan.

Stap negen
Zorg dat je aangesloten iPhone helemaal uit staat, en klik dan op de Next knop.

Stap Tien
RedSn0w zal nu de juiste uitleg geven om je toestel in DFU mode te zetten. Je kunt hier meer uitleg vinden over DFU mode.

Druk tegelijk de Home knop als de Power voor 10 seconden.

Laat nu Power knop los terwijl je de Home knop ingedrukt houd totdat RedSn0w je apparaat detecteert.

Stap elf
Je iPhone zal nu rebooten.

Stap Twaalf
RenSn0w zal nu starten met het uploaden van de nieuwe RAM Disk en Kernel.

Stap dertien
RedSn0w laat zien wanneer dit klaar is. Klik op de Finish knop.
Zodra je iPhone klaar is met de reboot ( ongeveer 5 minuten ) is je toestel gejailbreakt en vind je Cydia op je SpringBoard.

BOOT TETHERED:
Aangezien dit een tethered jailbreak is, dien je RedSn0w te gebruiken om je toestel opnieuw op te starten als je toestel voor wat voor reden dan ook uitvalt. Gewoonweg je toestel aansluiten op de computer, start RedSn0w, selecteer Just boot tethered right now in de optie menu en klik Next zodat RedSn0w je toestel start.

i tried everything, changed host file etc and still i get get error code 3194 i have factory unlocked jailbroken iphone 4 32gb on ios 4.3.3 i am trying to update to 5.0.0 and then jailbreak but when i try updating i keep gettig error code 3194 can onyone please help

Was getting error 3194 on iTunes and I had to launch latest TInyUmbrella and DISABLE "set hosts to Cydia on exit" for this tutorial to work

Damn stuck with NO SERVICE nearly one month!! when will Appple fix this problem? I don't use my Iphone 4 as an fu***** Ipod!! I know it is not only me who stuck with this issue, but most people also stuck like me too!!!

keep on trying I did the same and after 6-7h trying it finally worked, keep on trying and do it over and over again, mine wasn't sim locked, just jailbreaked! hope it works for you as well

Hi there, I am jailbroken with iOS 4.3 with iPhone 4. Can I update to iOS 5.0 somehow and jailbreak with redsnow? I tried to update to iOS 5.0 in iTunes but recieved error 3194. Let me know how I should proceed. Thanks in advance.

Apple is no longer signing 5.0 ipsw's. You would have to go to 5.0.1 and use Redsnow from there. Just remember, if you need an unlock that updating will upgrade your baseband.

hi, i did this jailbreak and after that my baseband changed to 04.11.08, so i was getting a NO SERVICE message after the jailbreak to 5.0 I had to undo it and go to the official 5.0 Ios so now i can make calls again, but it's impossible to downgrade the baseband !!! so i hope there will be a new jailbreak soon that works with the new baseband.. This thread does not work ! unless someone has a solution???

guys can anyone verify that it is still possible to add new contacts after having a tethered jailbreak? It seems to me that i couldnt and there is no other place where someone is like me ....facing this stupid issue...

Hi! I don't want to nag or anything but why has no one come up with an untethered jailbreak and why is it so difficult to enable an unlock for that jailbreak? I am very grateful for all the hard work the iPhone dev team puts in the jailbreak process. I am just curious of what the obstacles are. I also know that apple is doing their best to stop jailbreaking but still anything man made can be hacked right? where is Geohot when you need him. ;)

Hi, The only jailbreak right available is a tethered one which means, everytime you turn you iPhone of or if you run out of battery, you have to connect your iPhone to a computer and run RedSn0w again in order to ge your iPhone up and running.

I had IP-4 firmware 4.3.5 and baseband 04.10.01. I updated to iOS 5 using Sn0wbreeze on my PC (with windows-7). I surely updatede to iOS 5 and preserved my baseband (04.10.01) to unlock using Gevey. When I'm running redsnow to jailbreak, the process freezes at 'Eploiting with limerain' step! Does any one have a solution for this?

My Iphone 4 was jail broken w/ cydia and i think unlocked (not sure). It used to be on ATT i use tmobile. Now it's stuck on apple logo and won't turn off. Before when i could turn it off, i had to force it and it would reboot with the pineapple, but it never recognized my sim card. i don't know what to do i'm without a phone. Any help would be grateful!

Hmmm, still not seeing an option to use Tiny Umbrella to preserve my 1.59 Baseband on my iphone 4. Is there a way to get to iOS and keep 1.59? Anybody? Thanks

Yup just use redsnow or snowbreeze to create a custom firmware that wont update your bb. Ultrasnow has been update to support ios5 with old bb

I'm afraid once you make the custom IPSW with snowbreeze, Redsnow cannot load it. I have tried a few times. :(
