Apple May Be Testing 1.5-Inch OLED Displays for iWatch

RiTdisplay has sent samples of a 1.5-inch OLED display for use in a smart watch to Apple for testing, according to an Economic Daily News report relayed by Macotakara.
Apple reportedly wanted to use a 1.8-inch display; however, it was found to be to large.
It seems that it was changed into the 1.5 type organic electroluminescence display noting that Apple was too large although the Beijing corporation of Intel is performing this products design and the 1.8 type organic electroluminescence display was proposed to smart watch of Apple corresponding to Bluetooth at first.
RitFast, formed by Taiwan RITEK and Taiwan YoungFast, is said to be providing the touch technology.
Macotakara also relays another report from UDN which claims that Foxconn has received a trial run order to produce 1,000 iWatches.
Apple has been rumored to be working on a smart watch for some time. Reports have the company setting aside 100 designers to work on the project; however, the company may have run into battery life issues. Predictions have the iWatch being released by year's end.
