AT&T has announced a new smartphone trade-in program that begins May 1st. Customers who trade in their old devices are eligible for at least $100 off the purchase of a new smartphone.
This promotion applies to any smartphone AT&T sells, and gives customers access to the latest devices at a fraction of the cost or, in the case of smartphones priced under $99.99, for free. To take advantage of this offer, customers are encouraged to visit any AT&T company-owned retail store or participating authorized dealer with their previous smartphone that is no more than three years old and in good, working condition. In stores, upon trading in their old phone, customers will receive the $100 credit on-the-spot and can use it immediately.
Some trade-in phones may have a value higher than $100. In this case, customers will receive the credit at the higher value.
I love this program! It says my phone values at $175 so my new one is only $25 (: Helped a lot, i just wish they would tell us which stores still offers it, since they are changing to a new program most stores do not offer the trade in program anymore
I just tried that promotion with my HTC Surround. They said it is not qualified. This phone is launched in August 2010, within 3 years old. So, AT&T is just lying.
AT&T has always offered a trade-in program this just seems to offer a guaranteed min $100 as long as it meets the min criteria. Even after this promo AT&T will still offer the trade-in program.
Obviously AT&T's reaction to T-Mobile selling the iPhone 5 and having contract free lines... I really like this too bad the promotion will be over by the time I have a chance to use it since Apple won't be coming out with the iPhone 6 until at least fall more than likely Spring 2014
