Hoe je je 2G iPod Touch moet jailbreaken d.m.v. RedSn0w (Windows)

Dit zijn instructies over hoe je je iPod Touch 2G (geen UMC) moet jailbreaken voor 4.0 firmare.
Hiervoor gebruiken we RedSn0w voor Windows en iTunes versie 9.2.
De Mac versie van deze tutorial kan je vinden op:deze pagina.

**LET OP: Deze tutorial is alleen voor 2G iPods van welke het serienummer NIET begint met "MC".

Stap 1.
Maak een nieuwe map op het bureaublad en noem deze Pwnage

Download RedSn0w van: deze pagina en zet deze in de "Pwnage" map.

Vervolgens download je de 4.0 firmware hieronder en plaats je deze ook in de "pwnage" map.

4.0.0 (2G): iPod2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw

Pak RedSn0w van het zip bestand uit door er dubbel op te klikken

Hoe je je 2G iPod Touch moet jailbreaken d.m.v. RedSn0w (Windows)

Stap 2.
Verbind je iPod met de computer en start iTunes op.

Selecteer je iPod van de lijst links.
Houd nu de Shift toets in en klik op Herstellen

Blader naar de "Pwnage" map op je bureaublad en kies het ipsw bestand.

Stap 3.
Wanneer iTunes klaar is met het updaten van je iPod naar de firmware open je de "pwnage" map op je bureaublad en start je het RedSn0w programma. (die we bij stap 1 hebben uitgepakt)

Stap 4.
Als RedSn0w is opgestart, klik dan op de Browse knop.

Stap 5
Slecteer de firmware ipsw die we in de "pwnage" map op het bureaublad geplaatst hebben en click op Open.

Klik op de Yes of No als er gevraagd wordt of het serienummer van je iPod touch begint met MC.

Stap 6.
Als de firmware is geverifieerd, klik dan op de Next knop op door te gaan.

Stap 7.
RedSn0w zal nu de jailbreak data voorbereiden.

Stap 8
In dit scherm kan je de jailbreak opties die je wilt kiezen.

Verbose boot laat je gedetailleerde informatie over het opstarten van je iPod zien en is over het algemeen alleen nodig voor ontwikkelaars en experts.

Zorg er voor dat Cydia is geselecteerd. Voor deze tutorial zullen we ook Custom boot logo en Custom recovery logo selecteren.

Als je klikt op custom logo zal er een dialoogvenster verschijnen die je vraagt om de afbeelding te selecteren.
Selecteer een geschikte afbeelding en druk op de Open knop.

Onthoud dat opstart logo's in RGB of Grayscale formaat moeten zijn met Alpha kanaal en een resolutie onder 320x480.
Als je de iClarified logo's wil gebruiken kan je deze hier vinden: Boot Logo, Recovery Logo

RedSn0w heeft multitasking, homescreen wallpaper en battery percentage al geselecteerd.
Als je multitasking niet nodig hebt is het aanbevolen om het uit te schakelen omdat het je iPod wel vertraagd.

Klik op de Next knop om door te gaan.

Stap 9,
Verbind je iPod met de computer en zorg er voor dat hij UIT staat.
Klik dan op de Next knop.

Stap 10.
RedSn0w gaat je nu helpen om in DFU mode te komen.
Je kan meer hulp over DFU mode vinden op deze pagina

Houdt de Home en Power knoppen 10 seconden lang in.

Laat de Power knop los maar blijf de Home knop vasthouden tot RedSn0w het apparaat herkent.

Stap 11.
Je iPod zal nu opnieuw opstarten.

Stap 12.
RedSn0w zal nu beginnen met het uploaden van nieuwe RAM schijf en Kernel.

Stap 13.

Zodra dit klaar is zal vermeld worden dat RedSn0w klaar is.
Klik op de Finish knop.
Wanneer je iPhone klaa ris met opnieuw opstarten (ong. 5 minuten) zal het gejailbreakt zijn met Cydia op het SpringBoard.

same here i got stuck on the reboot..i found other resources I knew my itouch 2g model was MC model so is there to jailbreak for MC models??

err, yeah. I got stuck on the waiting to reboot both times, so I just held down both buttons and then it kept going. It said it was finished, but now I have the iTunes and the cable symbol on my iPod, so it's in recovery mode. I tried everything for getting rid of the waiting to reboot before. I put it in compatibility mode, ran as administrator, unplugged and plugged back in, switched plugs, etc.

I am going to second Speck as in recent days when trying to restore a custom firmware or downgrade back to the 3.0 series Itunes is no longer recognizing these files as system restores. This just started happening maybe yesterday? Anyone have a solution to this?

When I try to use the IPSW that I restored the iPod with, redsn0w says "unable to recognize specific IPSW." I've tried this several times with different files from lots of different sources. Help?

Everything works perfectly until the step 7. After I have clicked the next-button on the previous step, the software just seems to fall down. Even though in this guide reads that redsn0w should start to prepare the jailbreak data. Have I done something wrong or what's the problem with the issue? Or is the problem with the software? And yes, I have iPod touch 2g, and it's serial number does not begin include MC.

I have an MC model and I'm wondering if there's any way to jailbreak it... All I find here on iClarified is only to non-MC models... :\

lots of people need to JB with MC models and people stuck on 4.0 without jb and there is nothing to do why is that onlr for non*mc models.will be a new jb for MC models need help.

I have the same problem i want to jailbreak my iPod touch 2G, its an MC model and how do i jailbreak it? Im not happy with iClarified because im stil waiting for the iPhone 3G S 4.0 to be jailbroken on WIN?? How long more because this is very bad...If anyone can help me please e-mail me where and how to jailbreak these to items?

Yes, this seemed to work! It is taking awhile to restore now, and is waiting on a second reboot, but I definitely think it's working.

ı am having problem with jailbreaking my ipod touch 2g it says non mc but ı got 4.0 what should ı do to jb will be a jb for mc model.

I've downloaded the 4.0 restore file but there is no .ipsw file in there...how am I supposed to update without the update file?....I've downloaded this 5 times from different sources and I have the same problem everytime......Where is the file.....there should be a file with an icon a bit like a lego brick a .ispw file

Hey! You have to ¨save the file¨ not ¨open it¨.... When you download you can choose between two coises one of them says save and the other one open (i think got it on swedish so just translate it :P) if you choose the one ¨open¨ you will not be able to use it as an restore ipsw file so you have to choose the one who says ¨save¨ .

make sure the file extention is ipsw and not zip or rar. it should look like {{ restore.ipsw not, restore.zip or, restore.rar }}

When it says NON MC does that mean non MC model. because my seriel number does not start with MC? please someone help

Yes, non MC model means that your model number starts with something other than MC..i.e mine starts with MB.....go to Settings on your Ipod....then general....then about....look down the list and you will see the model....next to that is your model number...hope this helps
