YouTube has announced five new creation tools coming to Shorts this spring.
The updates are being announced ahead of looming April 5th ban on TikTok in the United States.
Here's the five new features set to arrive for YouTube Shorts:
1. Say hello to the new and improved video editor, which has been a top request from Shorts creators. You'll be able to make precise adjustments and edits to the timing of each clip with zooming and snapping, rearrange or delete clips to create a rough cut, add music or timed text, and preview your Short to help you better tell the story you want to tell. These are the first of more improvements planned to streamline in-app editing for Shorts.
2. Want to make your edits synced to the beat? You'll be able to soon. Pick a song, and this tool will automatically align your clips with the music's rhythm, taking the headache out of manual syncing. Get ready for effortlessly smooth, beat-driven Shorts.
3. And for those who love a trend, templates are getting a boost. You can now pull photos from your gallery and use them in templates, and soon, you'll be seeing effects in templates too. When you use a Shorts template, the original creator will also automatically be attributed.
4. We also have new features to help you express your unique style! Later this spring, you'll be able to throw image stickers into your Shorts, straight from your gallery - so now you can more easily share examples for your outfit inspo!
5. And for a truly personal touch, get ready to create AI stickers with a simple text prompt, also coming this spring! Simply describe the sticker you envision, and we'll generate it for you, giving you a sticker that is truly one of a kind and perfect for expressing yourself.
