I would like to consider the oittrpunpoy of saying thanks to you for the professional suggestions I have constantly enjoyed checking out your site. I'm looking forward to the actual commencement of my school research and the complete groundwork would never have been complete without consulting your website. If I can be of any help to others, I'd be thankful to help through what I have discovered from here.

You find it in Windows without iTunes and without USB View. -Connect the iDevice in Restore mode --Turn the device off --Hold the Home button while connecting the USB cable --Keep holding the home button until a "Connect to iTunes" picture appears. - In Windows, open the Device Manager - Change the view to "Devices by connection" - The iDevice will appear as a USB composite device, containing two unrecognized devices (unrecognized if the system doesn't have iTunes because the driver software will not be installed) - Double-click the USB composite device and go to the "Details" tab. - You will see many text strings containing cryptic device IDs and other information. - Look for the one containing "ECID" and 16-charcter number after that is the ECID.
