Apple is set to launch a new M4 MacBook Air as early as this week, according to a new report from Mark Gurman.
In a newsletter to subscribers, Gurman says that announcement is likely just days away.
"the M4 MacBook Air unveiling is imminent. In line with the details I reported in the last Power On, Apple is preparing to make a Mac-related announcement as early as this coming week, I'm told."
The M3 MacBook Air was announced on Monday, March 4, 2024, and began arriving to customers on Friday, March 8, 2024. Currently, Amazon shows somewhat limited availability of the M3 MacBook Air with discounts on all models, perhaps indicative of an update coming soon.
Other than the processor bump, we haven't heard of any major changes to the popular notebook. In terms of pricing, we expect Apple to stay very close to, if not exactly at, the current price point. The 13-inch MacBook Air starts at $1,099 (on sale for 18% off today), while the 15-inch model starts at $1,299 (on sale for 15% off today).
We're expecting Apple to debut the new MacBook Air via press release, similar to how it launched the new iPhone 16e.
