All Four New iPhone 16 Models to Have 8GB of RAM [Report]

All four new iPhone 16 models are expected to feature 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, according to a new report from TrendForce.

Despite earlier rumors suggesting the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus would have a frame rate upgrade to 90Hz, they will remain at 60Hz. Additionally, the DRAM capacity for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus has been upgraded, meaning all four new models will feature LPDDR5X 8GB to support Apple Intelligence.

● All four iPhone 16 models will use the A18 and A18 Pro processors, built with TSMC's 3nm N3E process.
● Both iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will feature 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, as will the iPhone 16 Pro models.
● iPhone 16 will have a 6.1-inch display, while iPhone 16 Plus will have a 6.7-inch display.
● iPhone 16 Pro will have a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a 6.9-inch display.
● iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will maintain a 60Hz refresh rate, while the iPhone 16 Pro models will retain a 120Hz ProMotion display.
● The iPhone 16 Pro models, especially those with a periscope telephoto lens, may start with 256GB of base storage.
● Apple Intelligence, powered by the new processors, will improve AI performance and Siri's accuracy, with additional features rolling out over time.
● Pricing is expected to remain similar to the iPhone 15 series, with slight increases due to rising memory prices.
● The combined production volume for the iPhone 16 models is expected to reach 86.7 million units in the second half of 2024, marking an 8% year-on-year increase.

Apple is set to unveil its next generation iPhone 16 lineup at a 'It's Glowtime' event on September 9. The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to offer new features, such as a dedicated capture button, faster processors, and slightly larger displays on the Pro models.
