Apple has provided some information on the changes to Google Maps, iPod, You Tube, video playback, and iBooks for the iPad.
Google Maps
The iPad now supports Terrain view for Google Maps
iPod
The iPod application‘s “Now Playing” screen has been updated with a large volume slider at the top left, track information top center, and back/play/pause/forward controls at the top right. Underneath the top bar is a song progress bar with repeat and shuffle buttons at either end. Back, Genius, and album listing/artwork buttons appear in a bar at the bottom.
You Tube
You can now tap Share on any YouTube video detail page to post a video to Facebook.
Video Playback
As we mentioned earlier the Videos app will now support AVI videos in MJPEG format.
iBooks
The iBooks app will support non-DRM ePub books not downloaded from the iBookstore. "The iBooks app uses the ePub format — the most popular open book format in the world. That makes it easy for publishers to create iBooks versions of your favorite reads. And you can add free ePub titles to iTunes and sync them to the iBooks app on your iPad." The iBooks app will also support VoiceOver and the ability to tap and hold on any word to look it up in the dictionary, in Wikipedia, or search for it in the book or online.
