Microsoft has announced an update to Windows 11 that enables iPhone users to access their device directly from the Start menu. The new functionality, rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels, expands the Start menu's integration with mobile devices, bringing features previously available only to Android users.
Connected iPhone users can now access their phone features directly from the Start menu. This seamless integration allows iPhone users to enjoy the same benefits as Android users, including ability to view phone's battery status and connectivity, ability to access messages and calls, and keeping track of the latest activities, all conveniently integrated into the Start menu.
To get started, open the Start menu and select iPhone from the right-side pane. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your device with the PC and start accessing your phone from the Start Menu.
Once connected, you can send files between your iPhone and Windows PC directly from the Start menu by selecting "Send files."
Availability The new features are rolling out gradually to Windows Insiders running Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 4805 or higher in the Beta Channel and Build 26120.3000 or higher in the Dev Channel. Users must have Phone Link version 1.24121.30.0 or higher and a PC with Bluetooth LE capability. The feature is not supported on PCs running Windows 11 Pro Education or Education SKUs.
