Apple's next generation iPad mini will feature an A15 processor, USB-C connector, magnetic Smart Connector, and a similar design to the iPad Air, according to 9to5Mac.
The site says the new tablet is codenamed J310 and could arrive as soon as later this year. Previous reports have suggested it will feature smaller bezels and no Home button.
The A15 chip will reportedly use the same 5nm process as the A14. Sources say Apple is also working on a more powerful A15X that could be used in future devices. Similar to the iPad Pro and iPad Air, a USB-C connector will be placed at the bottom of the device for compatibility with a wide array of accessories. Finally, the new iPad mini is also expected to feature a Smart Connector, perhaps to support a new Magic Keyboard.
Sources tell 9to5Mac, that Apple is also planning a new entry-level iPad, codenamed J181, with an A13 chip. Based on previous rumors, the iPad could feature a design similar to the iPad Air 3.
