Apple released firmware updates today for AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max.
For AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4, the new firmware version is 7E93, that's up from 7B21 for AirPods Pro 2 and 7B20 for AirPods 4. For AirPods Max, the new firmware version is 7E99, up from 7A291.
Apple only disclosed "bug fixes and other improvements" for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4; however, it revealed that the AirPods Max update enables lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio.
When used with an iPhone, iPad, or Mac running iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4 or later, AirPods Max with USB-C and firmware update 7E99 enable lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio for the ultimate listening experience and even greater performance for music production, content creation, and gaming.
