Japan Display is set to supply OLED displays for a new Apple Watch Series 5 that will launch later this year, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The TF International Securities analyst believes that Japan Display will gradually supply a larger proportion of OLED display orders starting with 15-20% in 2019 and reaching 70-80% in 2021.
Kuo also believes that Apple plans to gradually increase the proportion of OLED displays supplied by LG for the iPhone and will add BOE as an additional supplier.
Previously, Kuo predicted that Apple would introduce a new ceramic casing design for the Apple Watch and expand its ECG feature to additional countries.
