Apple is about to launch its delayed AirPower wireless charging mat and new AirPods, according to UDN.
The site says that Inventec has begun to ship the new headsets and claims that they will be released in spring of this year. As previously reported, the price will purportedly increase to $199.
In terms of design, compared with the previous generation of wireless Bluetooth headsets, the new AirPods will adopt a new surface coating design, and the charging box will adopt the same technology to maintain the integration of the two. In addition, the new AirPods will also add black for consumers to choose, so that the headset is available in both black and white.
UDN's report appears to corroborate recent information from MySmartPrice which also predicted a new coating for better grip and a black color option. Additionally, the new AirPods were rumored to get improved bass and possibly some health sensors.
Apple is holding a services focused event on March 25th but it's unclear if the company will use the same event to launch AirPower, AirPods 2, or new iPads. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
