Apple has moved up its timetable for the launch of an OLED iPhone to 2017, reports Nikkei. It's believed the company was previously targeting a 2018 launch.
Originally scheduled in the autumn of 2018 on the new models listed use, but iPhone sales stall, so Apple will plan ahead. Apple has from the beginning of the autumn 2017 notification was part of the model using an organic EL plan to each affiliate. In 2018, as a precondition to prepare emergency-related companies are forced to adjust the plan.
Apple is said to have contacted LG and Samsung back in December 2015 about moving up the timetable.
Notably, the new OLED display will reportedly be reserved for just some high-end models.
Advantages of the organic EL panel is the ratio of the LCD panel power, and can display bright colors. Because without backlight, may further reduce the thickness of the terminal, you can also realize the liquid crystal panel surface processing can not be achieved. Due to the limited initial supply, so the new iPhone scheduled planned autumn 2017 listed only some high-end models using organic EL.
The move to OLED for the iPhone appears to be imminent. Previous reports have estimated that Samsung will invest up to $7.5 billion in order to supply Apple with flexible OLED panels. Meanwhile, Japan Display and LG are also preparing OLED production lines.
iPhone 7 is out soon and Apple devices still don't have an IR blaster.

They should release it in the iPhone 7, stop messing around .. Meanwhile I'll be enjoying my GS7 edge coming from an iPhone 6S until apple decides to finally do some innovating :/
They have done something innovating (hint hint on the huge list of stuff featured in the 6s) whereas other companies continue to copy as well. It's not coming into iPhone 7 because Apple has so much to handle and probably test before actually finding ways to finally get their hands on more material they can eventually focus on. This is coming from a former galaxy user that has moved on since 2013.
Actually I also was a former Galaxy user and hated it finally Samsung has overcome their old terrible product line up and innovated, the 6S was not innovation it was crappy features that had no real meaning other than the camera improvements. I'm not switching away from iOS forever but I definitely am until apple actually makes a compelling product to buy, I have all apple products currently and love apple but they just messed up this year in terms of their iPhone
Messed up my ass! Compelling features are in every part of the iPhone in and out when they quoted it as "the only thing that changed us everything" thereby improving every bit of it which meant introducing new features to every corner of the 6s from inside out. Features: Retina Flash, 3D Touch which is now a new feature for games, 4K camera that now shoots smoother slow motion, bend gate resisting material that was the main problem for the 6, Live Photos, 2gb ram with optimized performance, improved Touch ID, extended range of lte and wifi, and VoLTE support.
Dude all of those with the exception of 3D Touch (which I never have had a reason to use it other than to show people) and Retina Flash have been included in android phones for quite some time now !! Samsung used to be the ones copying apple but I'm personally starting to feel like it's the other way around, or at least they're just playing catch up and releasing minimal feature to keep their customers coming back ... The 6S didn't fail because their sales reflect that but the 6S wasn't as big of an upgrade as other S models, it was pretty disappointing :/ imo
That doesn't change how galaxy is now built like the iPhone and how Apple actually puts effort into making dtuff in there own way even if you argue with them computing, but it still changes nothing. also, what cursing? Like how you argue with what's tossed in to shove down my throat. Lawl
