Pre-orders for the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are now live! It took us about an hour and twenty minutes to get through via Apple's Online Store app. The website has yet to come up for us.
Customers in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and the United Kingdom can pre-order the smartphone ahead of its September 19th in-store launch.
Apple app showed nothing in stock for ip6 then an hour later finally the ip6 space grey 128gb was in stock. Added to cart, in store pickup on the 19th (could have shipped the 19th too)
Tried ordering at 3:00am EST but AT&T iPhone 6 Plus Gold 128gb was not available continued trying til about 3:45am ESTbut gave up. Woke up at 5:00am EST looked again on website and it was available it took but a minute to process will pick up at store on 9/19!!
Got through at about 12:40 PST on AT&T's lagging website. Tried to order my 64 GB in space gray but timed out and crashed at checkout and couldn't get back in. Switched to the Apple Store app and got a confirmation in minutes! But guess what I had in my inbox when I woke up? AT&T is processing my order too... Now I have to cancel one of them!!! Both of them show delivery on the 19th...
Hey I'm in your situation as well it seems. Did Apple give you a confirmation/reservation ID when you completed the order? If so have you checked it, it doesn't show up for me even though I have the email from Apple and the ID. ATT email shows 21-28 days for IP6plus gray/64, but order page shows pending.
The confirmation emails both say September 19 but when I run them I get pending on both... I hope they don't cancel each other out. Going to get on the phone today!
Everyone that ordered and has to wait weeks for delivery are going to be shocked because like last year with long waits for them to process and ship they were already being sold in walk in and buy right on the spot
It's super, super lagging!! Apple web site was super horrible and I had to wait about 45 minutes from AT&T web site to get in and when it was my turn, it said that the shipping time is betwen 7 - 21 days! WTF?! Sprint web site is a lot faster to get in but the shipping time is also terrible! This is nuts! I don't want to wait a month after the launch date to get the phone! I'm just gonna go to the store or...well..... join the line then
I order 2x 6 plus thru the at&t website it took me 8 minutes from 3:01am to order both no problems at all, it did give me a delivery day yet but thats how they do last year with the 5s( i order on release day) was like that n i got it 4 days later in this case probably ill get it release day
Preordered my iPhone 6 plus 64gb space grey through verizon's site and was able to get order confirmation at 2:57am EST. Their preorder launched a few minutes early. According to the lady I spoke to on the phone to confirm some information I was the third one to place an order through their system.
I ordered 2x 6's and 2x 6 pluses all at 8.35 on my mac in the uk. All 4 will be delivered on 19/9. Means no queuing this year. I am way more excited than I should be.
Preordered through VZW right at 2:02a CST. 64gb Silver & 64gb Gold iPhone 6 preorder went through super smooth, no conflict, no errors, conformation email came through. Just waiting for the shipping info. I'm way too excited!
Contract Free option on the US Apple Store comes with a T-Mobile sim and is a LOCKED phone which needs to be activated by T-Mobile for use. T-Mobile will only unlock the device 45 days after activation, only upon user request.
SIM Free option (which is currently unavailable for pre-order) is an UNLOCKED PHONE that does not require any form of Carrier Activation. This option is the Unlocked offering by Apple
You can research this info on Apple's site and on T-mobile...
As for name-calling... Don't worry... I am not gonna call you anything...
The T-Mobile version is NOT locked... there is some debate about the specifics, but for sure if you take out the SIM card before turning it on the first time, it is simply an unlocked iPhone. If you turn it on with the T-Mobile SIM card, it MAY be locked to T-Mobile, but there are no fees to unlock it.
T-Mobile says: "the T-Mobile iPhone sold from Apple is completely unlocked. If it is not when you receive it, we highly recommend you return the device to Apple immediately. If you purchase the device from us, it will be locked."

When I buy from the Apple Online Store, does my iPhone come ready to use?
Yes, if you have selected an iPhone for use on AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon. When your iPhone arrives, all you have to do is turn it on and follow the onscreen instructions to set it up. If you have selected an iPhone for T-Mobile, it will come with the appropriate nano-SIM, but you will need to contact T-Mobile or visit an Apple Retail Store to activate your iPhone. If you have selected an unlocked GSM phone, you can insert your own nano-SIM card or obtain one from the supported GSM carrier of your choice and activate it in order to use your iPhone.
Yes, "you will need to contact T-Mobile or visit an Apple Retail Store to activate your iPhone" ON T-MOBILE! Dude, I've actually done this, trust me... the T-Mobile phones you buy at Apple are unlocked.
