Production of 4.7-Inch iPhone 6 to Begin in July, 5.5-Inch iPhone 6 to Enter Production in September?

Apple will reportedly start mass production of the rumored 4.7-inch iPhone 6 in July; however, production of the 5.5-inch model will reportedly begin in September, according to emsodm.

The report credits a Taiwanese newspaper for the news and says that both devices are expected to ship in the fourth quarter of 2014.

We've yet to see any substantial leaks from Apple's supply chain; however, some alleged schematics have been posted online. You can check out a few renders based on those schematics here and here.

Also, the typical woman's handbag is far more capacious than a man's pocket. So size is actually less an issue for the woman (at least with reference to mobile phones).

They need to obey the desires of the public rather than trying to dictate to the People (as in We the People..) what they want.

They'd better release both together so that people can see and handle both in the store before buying. If they release the smaller one and then 2 months later release the larger one a lot of people are gonna be mighty pissed off and create a lot of antipathy towards Apple.

The first larger one is what many want. A few here said they want it where it doesn't go over 4.8" so I don't see how hard it could be.

The one that's comparable in size to the Galaxy S5 is the one people are going to want. I think the 5.5 is the size people want rather than the smaller one.

@Louis And since was it ever too late to make a bigger screen, what about what goes in the phone first before doing anything else such as progress? That's why iPhone has the same 4". You know what they say. Start from working small and work your way up. Think of it as climbing a mountain. iPhone has bigger specs in a small device but now apple took their time to work on bigger device. Users may have asked for it back in 2012 but it takes time to finish work. You can't easily skip part of a mountain climb for example.

Apple wants to sell lots of iphones, so they know that the larger unit will be more popular. By pushing the smaller unit out first, they will be able to get those sold before the larger one hits the market. This avoids the problem they had with the 5C, which wasn't as popular as Apple wanted it to me. There are always those individuals who will buy as soon as something is released...

Users asked for it because they wanted apple to make for them.

exactly, the biggest will be the popular one. it'll canabilize the smaller size sales. the extra .7 inch is just a small evolution of the 5. they want more sales. it's fine, they are in it to make money. i guess it'll be spinned so that the 4.7 is for people who want to one hand it etc. if the complainers will probably buy the biggest screen. once you go big it's hard to go back. that's what she said..

How is it hard to go back, just sell it and get the smaller one. In fact it didn't even rhyme so technically it never made sense. That's what I said to your granny said.

They should start the bigger phone first and let people work down to smaller if they don't like it !
