How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 4 Using RedSn0w (Mac) [6.1.3]

Posted May 4, 2013 at 7:33pm by iClarified
These are instructions on how to perform a tethered jailbreak of your iPhone 4 on iOS 6.1.3.

A tethered jailbreak means you will need to connect your device to the computer each time you reboot. If you are on iOS 6.0 through iOS 6.1.2, please do not update. Rather use the iClarified Jailbreak Wizard to find instructions on performing an untethered jailbreak with Evasi0n.

Step One
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage

Download the latest version of RedSn0w from here and place it in the Pwnage folder. Likewise, download the 6.0 firmware and 6.1.3 firmware for your device from here and place it in the Pwnage folder.

Extract the RedSn0w zip file by double clicking it.

If you reboot the tethered-jailbreak phone, is it still functional as an un-jailbroken phone after the reboot but you have lost the jailbreak programs and functions? Or if you reboot does the phone become a brick?

Hold down both the home and power button at the same time for 15 to 20 seconds, basically doing a hard reboot. Always works for me, let me know if its the same for you.

I tried to do this with an iPhone 4S and I was at the point in the process where you had to hold down all the buttons and then RedSn0w said it wasn't supported or something and now my phone won't turn on. I plugged it into iTunes again and now it's in recovery mode - this completely screwed up my phone.

Great news guys! If you iPhone is locked by AT&T and you bought it 2 years ago it can be Factory Unlocked now! Just contact AT&T from the following link: https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/client/en_US/termsAndCondition I did it and it is free and fast! Forget about Ultrasnow/Gevey and preserving your baseband, this is the real jailbreak, haha!

It's probably time for me to just buy a new phone but I wanted to try and resurrect my 3Gs one more time! My power on/off button does not work anymore... Is there any way that I can do this without turning off my phone for DFU mode? Appreciate any help, thanks.

This is how to fix this: Once you jailbreak your iPhone you have to select the IPSW 6.0 again with redsn0w before you boot thether (if not redsnow is trying to Just Boot 6.1.3 and make that error).
