Time Warner Cable has announced that it will add live TV channel streaming to its iOS app tomorrow, reports Bloomberg.
Time Warner Cable will make as many as 11 live national news, sports and entertainment channels available outside the home starting at 10 a.m. New York tomorrow, according to Maureen Huff, a company spokeswoman. They include the Big Ten Network, the Pac-12 Network, TV Guide Network and BBC America. In addition, customers will have access to some local channels, including NY1 for New Yorkers. The programming will be available for Apple’s iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone and iPod iTouch.
Some on-demand programming will also be available from networks such as Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.
You can download TWC TV from the App Store for free.
Thank you for the information, guys. I heard a lot about this Time Warner app update when I got to work at DISH yesterday. It sounds great, but the channels they offer outside the home aren't the most popular around. Personally, I let my kids use my iPad and our DISH Anywhere app to stream TV. It streams ALL of our live channels or DVR recordings, so they can watch Cartoon Network or Disney when I am watching something on our big screen.
