The new iPhone which Apple is expected to unveil on September 12th is codenamed N42 and will launch with the same price points as the iPhone 4S, according to a 9to5Mac report.
Here is the part codes matrix for the new iPhone launch from a source at a well-known U.S. retail chain: N42A-USA -$199, N42B-USA-$199, N42A-USA-$299, N42B-USA-$299, N42A-USA-$399, N42B-USA-$399. A + B signify black and white.
We also understand that this new iPhone N42 will come in the same prices as the iPhone 4S. With this, we speculate that the configurations will remain at the iPhone 4S's 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacities.
The site says it learned that in May Apple was working on a new iPhone codenamed N41 with NFC capabilities; however, the feature didn't make it into the shipping N42 device.
Pre-orders for the new smartphone are expected to begin shortly after its announcement; however, as usual, it will only ship to select countries at first.
Looks like the new iPhone is going to be pretty much the same as iPhone 4S.
Slightly increased screen length is not enough.
I'll probably still buy it as soon as there is a jailbreak available.
Apple is being apple again, releasing same shit in a different package and wants to make a bunch of money off of fanboys.
Not surprised.
I hope it will be even a bit wider. Knowing apple I'm sure their design will be better than this. Otherwise my iPhone 4s will have to do until they improve on it. It looks way too long and not wide enough. Lets see though I have faith in apple. Mine is through Sprint. I hope it gets released to it immediately just like the other two.
Good, I was worried they'd jump the price due to the increased size of the device. I'm anxious to get one, though I suspect Verizon will refuse to allow me to upgrade without paying an extra $400 for it (I had to switch from ATT because ATT has NO service where I live, and I had to drive 10 miles away just to make a phone call).
