Apple has reportedly finalized a deal to purchase Israeli flash storage company Anobit, reports Calcalist.co.il.

According to the site, Anovit gathered its employees in Herzliya to inform them about completing the deal with Apple. It's estimated to have been worth $400-$500 million which would make it Apple's largest acquisition thus far.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Apple to the country via his official twitter account, although its unclear if the announcement is based on first hand knowledge or media reports.

"Welcome to Israel, Apple Inc. on your 1st acquisition here. I'm certain that you'll benefit from the fruit of the Israeli knowledge."
