Apple to Launch New iPhone in October, Not September?

AllThingsD is firmly stating that the iPhone 5 will launch in October and not September as previously predicted.

So those rumors claiming the iPhone 5 will debut in late September? They're wrong. Instead, it's going to be an October surprise - the month in which Apple plans to launch its next-gen iPhone.

The site is also discrediting a report that AT&T has blacked out vacation time for the iPhone 5's release at the end of September.


"I don't know why AT&T's calling for all hands on deck those weeks, but it's not for an iPhone launch," said one of their sources.

The source wouldn't specify a specific launch date but only reveal that it was sometime in October. Other sources said it would be later in the month.
