These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPod Touch 2G (non MC) on the 4.0 firmware using RedSn0w for Mac and iTunes 9.2. The Windows version of this tutorial is here.

**REMINDER: This tutorial is currently only for the iPod touch 2G whose serial number does NOT begin with MC.

Step One
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage

Download RedSn0w from here or here and place it in the Pwnage folder. Likewise, download the latest 4.0 firmware from below and place it in the same folder.

Notice that RedSn0w has already selected to Enable multitasking, Enable homescreen wallpaper, and Enable battery percentage. If you do not need multitasking we would recommend deselecting it as it could make your iPod 2G run very slow.

Will this work even if I use iTunes 9.1.1? I don't want to update because I'm also jailbreaking 3.0 - 3.1 models.

Hey! Uh, quick question, well, two questions: 1) How can I restore the home screen to the black background it had. 2) The Clock and Calculator app logos decided not to show up, so, all that's there is an empty white. Any way I can fix that? Alright, other than that everything seems to be running smoothly. Thanks
