FBR Capital Markets คาดเดาว่า iPhone 5 จะเริ่มการผลิตในไตรมาศที่ 3 พร้อทกล้อง 8 ล้านพิกเซลและ ชิพ CDMA-GSM จาก Qualcomm รายงานโดย PCWorld

ในบันทึกจากการค้นคว้า กล่าวไว่ว่า FBR นั้นคาดหวังว่า iPhone ประมาณ 20 ล้านเครื่องจะถูกผลิตขึ้นในช่วงไตรมาศที่ 3 รวมถึง iPhone 5 8 ล้านเครื่อง

มีการคาดเดาว่า OmniVision จะเป็นผู้ผลิตหลักของเซ็นเซอร์ CMOS ของกล้อง 8ล้านพิกเซล โดยมี Sony เป็นผู้ผลิตสำรอง

นอกจากนี้ Apple ยังถูกกล่าวว่าจะนำชิพการสื่อสาร CDMA-GSM จากบริษัท Qualcomm มาใช้กับอุปกรณ์ที่กำลังจะออกมา

"ผู้ทำสัญญากับเรายืนยันแล้วว่า Qualcomm จะมาแทนที่ Intel ในฐานะผู้ผลิต Baseband ซึ่งจะจำหน่าย CDMA/WCDMA baseband" FBR กล่าว

ในเมื่อวานนี้ กำหนดการเปิดตัว iPhone รุ่นต่อไป

In other words, they can sell one model line that works on both Verizon and AT&T. The million-dollar question is whether or not it will come LTE-ready.

Nah, the iphone isn't ready for LTE. The battery consumption is just not there yet plus ATT isn't going to be fully LTE ready before release. Heck, the gsm/cdma combo would be surprising itself (though I had said that was most likely as companies likes 1 manufacturing process). That will be interesting to see how it handles battery consumption.
