Apple may have already started developing the next-generation iPhone 17e, suggesting an annual release cycle for the new model.

----- In the Apple ecosystem, "economical" means "budget-friendly" or "affordable". With identical dimensions, a full screen, a toned-down A18 chip, and an in-house developed baseband, the iPhone 16e can rightly be considered the "youth version" of the iPhone 16. [Thinking]

If Apple sees success with the launch of the iPhone 16e, it makes sense that the company would continue an annual spring release of an "e" model. This would generate excitement and discussion about the iPhone mid-cycle, potentially boosting sales across the entire lineup.
