OpenAI Confirms Major Outage for ChatGPT

OpenAI has confirmed a major outage today impacting its ChatGPT service, API, and Sora video generator.

According to the OpenAI Status page, the company started investigating the issue around 2pm EST.

Investigating - We are currently experiencing an issue with high error rates on ChatGPT, the API, and Sora. We are currently investigating and will post an update as soon as we are able.

At 2:18 EST, the company announced the issue was caused by an upstream provider.
