Check out this early teardown of the new Apple iPhone 16 Pro. The teardown was shared by REWA Technology on YouTube.
The latest iPhone 16 Pro officially launched with some new features including a new motherboard, a new chassis, a new heat dissipation effort and a new camera button. At REWA Lab, we've disassembled the iPhone 16 Pro to uncover the fascinating inner working parts.
Observations
● Larger, Heavier Design: The iPhone 16 Pro has a bigger and heavier build compared to previous models.
● Smaller Motherboard with Dense Layout: The iPhone 16 Pro features a smaller motherboard that is packed more densely.
● Larger Protection Cover for Heat Dissipation: The protection cover over the motherboard is larger than before, likely to aid with heat management.
● Rear Camera Upgrade: The rear camera assembly is larger, particularly due to the new 5x Telephoto camera, an upgrade from the 3x camera on the iPhone 15 Pro.
● Steel Battery Shell: A significant new feature of the iPhone 16 Pro is a steel shell surrounding the battery, which is exclusive to the Pro model.
● Graphite Clad Aluminum Substructure: The iPhone 16 Pro chassis is now made from graphite-clad aluminum, which reportedly improves thermal performance by five times.
● New Camera Control Button: A new Camera Control button has been introduced, but it is laser welded and non-removable, which could make repairs more complicated in this area.
● Smaller Front Camera Assembly: The front camera assembly has become slightly smaller, suggesting design optimization or perhaps improvements in camera technology despite the reduced size.
● Non-integrated Microphone: The microphone is no longer part of the charging port flex cable, which could simplify certain repairs, as these components are now separate.
