Apple has released new firmware for its Beats Studio Pro over-ear headphones, bringing support for Audio Sharing.
The update is build number 2C301, up from 2B68. The new audio sharing capability was spotted by @jforsander via @aaronp613.
With the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, Audio Sharing allows you and a friend to both listen with AirPods or Beats wireless headphones to audio from your iPhone or iPad. You need a compatible iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, and you both need compatible wireless headphones. Apple has a support document that lists the compatible models; however, it has yet to be updated with Beats Studio Pro.
Firmware updates are delivered automatically while your Beats headphones or earphones are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac that's connected to Wi-Fi. To use your iPhone or iPad to check that your Beats headphones or earphones are up to date, go to Settings > Bluetooth, then tap the Info buttonNo alt supplied for Image next to the name of your Beats. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version.
Beats Studio Pro retail for $349.95, but they are on sale today for just $199.95!
