References to a new 'Apple Pencil Pro' have been found in the source code for the Apple homepage in Japan.

In a visually hidden description of the May event canvas, the follow description mentions 'Apple Pencil Pro' four times!

"Bent papers in green, yellow, orange, and blue form the Apple logo. Inside the logo, a creator's hand can be seen holding an Apple Pencil Pro, ready to draw. From the tip of the Apple Pencil Pro pressed against the bottom of the logo, vibrant splashes of orange and pink burst upwards, creating wave patterns. As the creator rotates the Apple Pencil Pro, held between their thumb and forefinger, pink, orange, and white droplets swirl in its wake, causing the paper to flutter silently. The stem of the Apple logo is represented by droplets mixed in pink, blue, and purple, floating above. When the user places the pointer over the logo, an eraser effect animation begins. As the user swipes, the content under the pointer vanishes as if they are erasing the logo with a paintbrush. The logo transforms into a new design after more than 50% of it is erased. There are six different logo designs available. If less than 50% of the logo is erased, it reverts to the original design."

Similarly, two more references can be found in the text for an aria-label.

It's highly likely that Apple will unveil a new stylus tomorrow. The company included an Apple Pencil in the invite image for its 'Let Loose' event and today made the Apple logo on its homepage erasable.

Code references found in iPadOS 17.5 beta reveal that the next generation Apple Pencil will likely support multiple new squeeze gestures. The device will purportedly be able to detect if a user gives the barrel of the stylus a 'long squeeze', a 'double squeeze', or a short 'squeeze'.
