iOS 15.5 Beta Hints at Launch of Apple Classical Music App

References in the newly released iOS 15.5 beta hint at the upcoming launch of a new Apple Classical music app.

MacRumors has found several messages to the standalone app in the beta including "Open in Apple Classical" and "Open this in the new app designed for classical music".

Last August, Apple acquired Primephonic, a classical music streaming service. At the time, the company said "in the coming months" classical music fans would get a dedicated experience.


With the addition of Primephonic, Apple Music subscribers will get a significantly improved classical music experience beginning with Primephonic playlists and exclusive audio content. In the coming months, Apple Music Classical fans will get a dedicated experience with the best features of Primephonic, including better browsing and search capabilities by composer and by repertoire, detailed displays of classical music metadata, plus new features and benefits.
