New claims about potential features for iPadOS 19 and iOS 19 have surfaced, courtesy of leaker Majin Bu. These changes, supposedly planned for 2025, hint at Apple further blurring the lines between its device capabilities.
A big part of the rumor centers on iPadOS 19 and the Magic Keyboard experience. The source suggests that connecting the keyboard could trigger a macOS-style menu bar to appear at the top of the iPad screen. This would obviously push the iPad closer to a traditional laptop setup.
There's also talk of an updated 'Stage Manager 2.0'. This enhanced multitasking system would reportedly activate automatically with the keyboard attached, aiming to make juggling apps and windows feel smoother for productivity work.
The leak didn't stop at the iPad. For iOS 19, the claim is that iPhones with USB-C ports might finally gain external display support. This wouldn't be a full desktop mode, according to the source, but rather a Stage Manager-like interface allowing users to expand their screen space.
It's mentioned there could be some limits, possibly on resolution or how many apps can run on the external screen at once. Still, the potential for presenting, editing, or just getting a bigger view is there.
Remember, these are just rumors at this stage. Apple itself hasn't confirmed anything, and features mentioned in early leaks don't always make it to the final release. We'll likely get official details about iPadOS 19 and iOS 19 at WWDC 2025 in June.
