Apple Acquires AI Music Startup

Apple has acquired a London-based startup called 'AI Music', according to Bloomberg. The company was founded in 2016 and its acquisition was completed "in recent weeks".

In a case study, Spark Foundry used AI Music's technology to create dynamic and personalized audio ads, which complimented a listener's music genre within the ad, all in under 10 minutes.

In June 2021, AI Music launched an AI-powered audio platform with @mademusicstudio called VentureSonicAI. It allows brands to create custom music, using their own sonic branding and use AI to adapt that music to fit any content touch point.

VentureSonic AI works by using thousands of elements created by artists and producers to intelligently produce customized tracks. The first generation of the product allows any user to have control over mood, genre, instrumentation, tempo and duration without the need for specialist production or technical knowledge. Brands with an existing sonic identity can create tracks with their sonic logos (audio logos, mnemonics) woven into the music or place them at any point in the track. This allows for seamless customization for use with any kind of video or audio media asset, making it easier to contextualize music across the myriad use cases modern brands need. Marketers will have a powerful tool that gives them branded music tracks across styles and genres at the touch of the button.
