Apple is planning to begin mass production of the iPhone 13 in India starting in February, according to UDN.
Local media reports that Apple has already begun trial production of the iPhone 13 at Hon Hai's Chennai factory.
With the improvement of semiconductor supply, Apple has plans to expand the iPhone 13 production area. According to industry executives, Hon Hai’s factory in Chennai, India, has currently trial-produced the iPhone 13, and is expected to start mass production in February next year, directly supplying the local Indian market and Overseas export.
This added capacity will help Apple meet both local and international demand as 20-30% of iPhone's produced in India are typically exported. Currently, the iPhone 13 outsells the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max in India making it the more logical choice for production in the country.
